Are houses really like 50000 $ in arizona?? why?

is it true that there that much because there double of that in california. or is it just fake ads .. i saw on century 21.com a 3 bed 2 bath 1200 square foot houses for 50000 and it said payments of 300$ is that true? i dont wanna get my hopes up
